Art Experiences in a Contemporary Gallery Setting

Leading gallerists Matt Ward and Paul Johnstone have joined forces to create Outstation Gallery, uniting their shared vision to support and promote world-class Aboriginal art. With over 40 years combined experience, Outstation Gallery works directly with Aboriginal-owned Art Centres across Australia to deliver an exceptional and ethical art experience in a beautiful space on Darwin harbour.

This collaboration offers a new destination for art lovers, showcasing the best of both galleries in a modern, flexible, and beautifully lit venue. Visitors and locals are invited to engage with powerful stories, culture, and art.

Outstation Gallery is a proud signatory to the Indigenous Art Code and is committed to fair dealing with artists, their art centres, and communities. Matt and Paul have facilitated major acquisitions for public collections throughout their careers.

Outstation also exhibits contemporary works by non-Indigenous artists connected to the Darwin region, including Steve Gough, David Wickens, Hannah van der Wal, Bryan Bulley, Sarah Brown, and Geoff Todd.
